Spring 2020 Grade 3, Evergreen Class Learning Board #1

 

  • Each day of continuous learning, students should choose at least one activity from each subject area column (Main Lesson, Reading, Writing, Math, and Specials).
  • Please initial when your student has completed an activity.
  • Send a picture to Mrs. Smith of the initialed Learning Board – include other pictures of the student’s projects, if you can!

Listen to Mrs. Smith’s audioWrite 3 things you like about yourself.Create a number line to 48 with an ordinary pencil. Using one color, show the skip counting pattern for 2s, use another color for 3s, and a third color for 4s.Sit quietly by a window or outside. Listen for 10 minutes to the sounds of the world. Draw or write about what you heard.Teach your family to sing Shalom Havarim.
Draw a picture or write about what you remember from Mrs. Smith’s lesson.Read for 20 minutes to a stuffed animal or pet.Play a math game with a deck of cards, such as multiplication war.Put away a load of laundry, write down how many socks, how many pants, shirts, etc. Add up the total number of items that were put away.If you can, go outside and look at the moon tonight. It’s a supermoon – the biggest lunar event of the year.
Listen to Mrs. Smith’s audio.Write the word: GENEROUS is big letters across a paper. Cut each letter out, and rearrange to form new words. Write down all of the new words you were able to make using just those letters.Write down what time you get out of bed in the morning and what time you go to bed at night. Draw clock faces for each time.Pick a deciduous (not evergreen) tree near where you live. Draw the tree as it looks right now. Put your name and the date in the corner. Be sure to keep this picture for later comparisons.Count as high as you can in Spanish.

Calculate using yesterday’s clock assignment.Wipe down all of the light switch covers in your house. Ask a parent for the best supplies that you have on hand to do the job. Once finished, count how many covers you cleaned. (Keep track for a later activity.)Do 15 Jumping Jacks, 15 push-ups (whatever style works best for you), 15 sit ups, and crawl along the floor on your belly for 1 minute.
Listen to Mrs. Smith’s audioWrite a letter to Mrs. Smith using the style she taught you.Sweep the kitchen floor from corner to corner. Now walk along the edges as closely as you can and count your footsteps. Write down how many steps it took you. If you have a ruler/measuring tape, measure the same area and see the difference between your “foot” and the ruler’s foot.Tell your family how much you love them. Do one nice thing for each person in your house.If you have yarn at home, finger knit, crochet, or knit with needles for 20 minutes. If you don’t have yarn, spend 20 minutes helping your parents clean the kitchen.
