Ieeda Banach, Sixth Grade, Violetwood Class

Ieeda Banach found her way to Waldorf Education in 2011 when seeking an education for her own children that resonated with her families’ values. After several years as a Waldorf parent at the Waldorf School of Cape Cod in Massachusetts, she began working as an assistant teacher in the Early Childhood programs and in After Care and shortly thereafter starting as a classroom teacher, teaching first grade. Ieeda graduated with a Waldorf Teaching Certification from Antioch University in Wilton, New Hampshire, and these studies greatly complemented her Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities, also from Antioch University. In addition to being a classroom teacher, she also served as the Faculty Chair, as a member of the Board of Trustees, and as a member of the Leadership Council at the Waldorf School of Cape Cod. She eventually decided to move back to her hometown of Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2018 to discover that the Whittier Elementary School she attended as a child was now Mountain Song Community School, a Waldorf-inspired public charter school, where she is now a classroom teacher. She is passionate about Waldorf education being accessible to all interested families and students, and in parent enrichment programs.
