School Board
Strategic Goals
Mountain Song Board of Directors
Financial Stability
Enhancing financial sustainability by increasing reserves through annual fundraising, enrollment expansion, facility improvements and a capital fund strategy. Fundraising matters as state charter schools like MSCS receive up to 20% less funding.
Academic Excellence
Implementing a Waldorf-aligned educational model that ensures all MSCS students make adequate yearly progress on interim assessments, positively impacting student behavior, social interactions, and future growth while emphasizing high-quality teaching retention and data-driven strategies.
Operational Effectiveness
Achieving a 10% increase in related annual community survey scores and a positive Performance rating in CSI’s annual CARS report, emphasizing stability, productivity and new opportunities. Operational effectiveness leads to a more stable and productive school.
Engagement & Collaboration
Fostering a school culture of healthy relationships, minds, and bodies, effective communication, and meaningful community engagement, recognizing that strong family engagement positively impacts student achievement, reduces absenteeism, and enhances social, emotional, and physical health.

MSCS Board Committees
MSCS Committees are critically important resources for the management and operation of the school. They provide both a way to distribute the workload needed to govern the school, and an opportunity for community awareness and involvement. (And an excellent way for parents to satisfy their volunteer hours requirement.) Committees are a way to focus attention and action on a particular topic, such as fundraising, engagement, and future direction and well-being of the school.
There are Board Committees and School Committees. Board Committees directly support governing interests of the Board and report directly to the Board. Some standing Board Committees are mandated by Colorado Education law (School Accountability Committee) and some committees are activated as needed (Charter Contract Renewal Committee). School Committees support operational interests of the school and report to the ELT. There are standing School Committees that serve an ongoing operational need (Finance Committee) and others that are formed to meet a unique and important need (Return To School Committee).
Links to each MSCS Committee are provided below.
