Kati Hastings
Vice President - khastings@mountainsongschool.com
I have called Colorado home since I was six years old, growing up first in Colorado Springs and later in the mountain community of Woodland Park. I briefly attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins before completing my degree at UCCS, where I majored in Communications, with an emphasis in marketing, and minored in Psychology.
My husband, Tom, and I met in college and have since built a full and joyful life together with our five daughters: Adilyn, Harper, Laurel, Dottie, and Eloise. As an Air Force family, we feel grateful to have remained rooted here in Colorado, currently living on the west side of Colorado Springs near the mountains we love.
Outside of school and community involvement, I enjoy crafting, home decorating, cooking, baking — especially pies — gardening, reading, shopping, going on walks, and spending time with family, friends, and our sponsor cadets at USAFA. There is rarely a dull moment in the Hastings household, with our girls filling our days with horseback riding, dance, acting, sports camps, and many other activities.
Our family has found a meaningful sense of kinship at Mountain Song Community School. I deeply value the way children are nurtured creatively, seen intentionally by their teachers, and offered rich opportunities for educational growth and personal enrichment.
As a Board member, I look forward to supporting Mountain Song’s continued growth while helping uphold its values and Waldorf-inspired principles. I hope to contribute my experience with significant fundraising efforts, my creative and community-minded perspective, and my desire to help strengthen connections between parents, educators, and school leadership. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this community and to take part in thoughtful conversations around the opportunities and challenges our school faces in an ever-evolving educational landscape.
