Kati Hastings
Secretary
I have lived in Colorado since I was six years old, first in Colorado Springs and then in the mountains of Woodland Park. I attended college at CSU Fort Collins briefly and finished my degree at UCCS with a major in communications and a minor in psychology. My husband, Tom, and I met in college and have since created a full and wonderful life with our five daughters, Adilyn, Harper, Laurel, Dottie, and Eloise!
While being an Air Force family, we’ve had the privilege to remain here in Colorado and reside on the west side near the ever-gorgeous mountains. I enjoy crafting, home decorating, cooking, baking (especially pies!), gardening, reading, shopping, going on walks, and spending time with my family, friends, and our sponsor cadets at USAFA. There never seems to be a dull moment at the Hastings household, with the girls constantly filling our schedules with horseback riding, dance, acting, sports camps, and more.
Our family is blessed to have found a wonderful kinship in joining Mountain Song Community School, where my students are nurtured creatively, intentionally sought by their teachers, and given many growth opportunities in their education and personal enrichment.
I look forward to serving on the board and contributing my thoughts and ideas to help continue to grow Mountain Song. I strive to make a positive impact on the school’s community by continuing to uphold its values and Waldorf principles, bringing my experience in significant fundraising efforts, putting forward new creative ideas, bridging gaps between parents and educators, and initiating meaningful conversations and notions our school faces in an ever adapting educational environment.
