Assistant Director of Education

The Assistant Director of Education supports the Director of Education in both the daily and strategic leadership of Mountain Song Community School. This position has primary responsibility for student behavior, discipline, restorative practices, attendance support, and school culture, while also supporting policy review, policy implementation, data-informed decision making, and schoolwide systems development.

The Assistant Director of Education serves as a key administrative partner by helping ensure that student expectations, discipline practices, attendance procedures, communication and collaboration with families regarding continued student support, and staff follow-through are clear, consistent, and aligned with school policy, applicable law, and MSCS values. This role is both hands-on and systems-focused: responding directly to student behavior needs while also identifying patterns, strengthening procedures, supporting staff, and helping implement schoolwide improvements.

The Assistant Director works closely with the Director of Education, Director of Student Services, Director of Operations and Development, mental health team, teachers, assistants, families, and students to help maintain a safe, respectful, developmentally appropriate, and supportive learning environment.

Assistant Librarian

The Library Assistant is a part-time, temporary (1st Semester) role that supports the daily operation of the school library by helping students access the library resources, maintaining an organized and welcoming environment, and assisting with the data entry and reorganization of the library.

School Social Worker

The School Social Worker at Mountain Song Community School (MSCS) plays a vital role in supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioral well-being within a Waldorf-inspired educational setting. This position provides direct support to students, collaborates with teachers and families, and implements interventions that align with the school's holistic, child-centered approach. The School Social Worker will work closely with faculty and the Special Education team to foster a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment, ensuring that students receive the support they need to thrive academically and emotionally.

Special Education (SPED) Paraprofessional

The Special Education (SPED) Paraprofessional provides direct support to students with diverse learning needs, assisting them in academic, social, and behavioral development within a Waldorf-inspired learning environment. SPED Paraprofessional helps implement individualized education plans (IEPs), accommodations, and classroom modifications while fostering an inclusive and engaging atmosphere.
