Arts and Crafts Club

Cost: $50 for 6 sessions
Description of Club: Arts and Crafts Club will be a time for students to work with varied art materials and mediums to create their own art pieces. While some structured opportunities will be available, students are given the opportunity to express their creativity in whatever way they choose. Kindergarten students will be given their own area of the room to create, as they will have materials which reflect what is found in their classroom environment. Their experience will be a bit more unstructured, and their mediums will be more developmentally appropriate.

Description of Club: Sewing Club will be a time for students to work with needles, thread, felt, and fabric materials to create small sewing projects. While some structured opportunities will be available, students are given the opportunity to create whatever pieces they would like. Students will be given instruction on basic hand sewing techniques and offered support when needed.

Description of Club: Have a kid that can play with bricks until their fingers hurt? Then this club is for them! During LEGO Club, students will be able to build, play, and repeat! Students will also have the opportunity to take a break from free building, and try building a variety of sets from Mr. Matt’s personal collection. There will also be a variety of LEGO Books and Games!
Middle School Strategy Games

Cost: $30 for 7 sessions
Description of Club: Has your student ever wondered what it would be like to terraform mars, or become an amateur ornithologist? Does your student like to problem solve on the fly, while learning new things? Does your student love to play games, but struggles to find the time and people to get one organized? If so, then this club is perfect for them! Students will have a chance to play complex strategy games like Terraforming Mars, Wingspan, Everdell and Settlers of Catan- just to name a few! A portion of this club's cost will go towards replacing any damaged or lost equipment for the board games.

Description of Club: Journalism/Yearbook Club will be a time for students to work collaboratively to develop and publish The Chirp, as well as a yearbook for Mountain Song. In this first quarter, we will publish issues of The Chirp and work on the beginning outline of the yearbook. As the year progresses, The Chirp will continue to be published, and the club will work to develop the entirety of the yearbook. Students will have the opportunity to write, interview, photograph, design, and help fundraise for the newspaper and the yearbook.

Join Ms. Cara as you learn about the world around us, go on nature walks, play some games, and conduct scientific experiments. Students may learn about topics including, but not limited to, water ecosystems, forest and soil sciences, tracks, adaptations of plants and animals, snow science, geology and more! The activities in this club will be directly tailored for students in 2nd and 3rd grade.

Cost: $100 for 8 sessions
Description of Club: Garden Club will be an opportunity for students to work and play in the garden as we enter fall. Each week, we will have a special activity such as a nature craft, group game, or cooking project for students to participate in. Students will cultivate their agricultural skills by learning more about planting and garden care, and will also have the unique chance to help with our beehives, work in our new high tunnel, and complete garden projects that require individualized attention! Free play will also be provided.
