We’re excited to offer a variety of clubs this quarter and hope you find something your student will enjoy!

Cozy Club (K-3rd Grade)

Grades: Kinder, 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Meeting Day and Time: Monday 3:30 - 4:30

Cost: $50 for 7 sessions

Description of Club: Cozy club is meant for students in the younger grades to have access to a space that is calm, cozy, and filled with activities such as reading, drawing, tea, and lower stimulating indoor play. At each club, we will start with herbal or honey tea (honey and warm water) and a story. Then, students can spend the rest of their time choosing to read in the little classroom library, play with tabletop activities, or draw with crayons and paper. We will also have puppets, silks, and a craft on some of the club meetings. 

Beyblade Club (4th-8th Grade)

Grades: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th

Description of Club: Calling All Bladers! Love Beyblade? Come join Beyblade Club! Battle friends head-to-head, customize your bey, and discover the science behind the spin. Whether you're a seasoned blader or totally new, all skill levels are welcome. Every participant will be given their own bey on the first day of club!

Come ready to compete, make friends, and most importantly — let it rip!

Description of Club: Journalism/Yearbook Club will be a time for students to work collaboratively to develop and publish The Chirp, as well as a yearbook for Mountain Song. In this first quarter, we will publish issues of The Chirp and work on the beginning outline of the yearbook. As the year progresses, The Chirp will continue to be published, and the club will work to develop the entirety of the yearbook. Students will have the opportunity to write, interview, photograph, design, and help fundraise for the newspaper and the yearbook.

Description of Club: Garden Club will be an opportunity for students to work and play in the garden as we enter spring. Each week, we will have a special activity such as a nature craft, group game, or cooking project for students to participate in. Students will cultivate their agricultural skills by learning more about planting and garden care, and will also have the unique chance to help with our beehives, work in our new high tunnel, and complete garden projects that require individualized attention! Free play will also be provided. 

Garden Club (3rd-5th Grade)

Description of Club: Needle felting club will be a time for students to explore the art of needle felting in a creative and open way. Students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of dry felting, safety, and simple forms with room for their own artistic choices. Students enrolled in this club must be able to safely handle a sharp object. While of course there will be adult supervision, students must demonstrate safety and reverence within this art form to participate.

Description of Club: Have a kid who loves Lego? During LEGO Club, students will be able to build, play, and repeat! Lego Club members who want a break from free building can look through Lego books, try a Lego game or do Lego art and design their own Lego mini figure!

Description of Club: Mountain Song Mom, Guest Teacher and Studio Artist, Gwendolyn Beachy, invites 4th and 5th graders to the first ever Mural Art Club. Come together for a fun, hands-on mural painting experience where we will explore a variety of design and painting techniques while collaborating on large-scale nature themed artworks. And best of all, the final projects will be proudly displayed in our school! 

Students will learn:

  • Hands on experience with different painting textures and techniques

  • Concepts of Composition, Design & Color Theory

  • How to transfer & enlarge an image from paper onto a large surface

  • How to creatively collaborate

  • History of murals in Colorado and beyond

Join Ms. Cara as you learn about the world around us, go on nature walks, play some games, create art, and conduct scientific experiments. This quarter we will be learning about insects, animal and plant adaptations, and rocks! The activities in this club will be directly tailored for students in 4th and 5th grade.
