Oralia Venzor, Special Subjects, Spanish Teacher

Oralia is happy and excited to return as Mountain Song's Spanish teacher! She is the proud mother of a Mountain Song school graduate! She has been a member of the Mountain Song community since 2015 when she first enrolled her son Quetzal at the school and began volunteering. She has been one of the school's substitute teachers for the past two years. Oralia first joined the Mountain Song team in 2017. She taught elementary and middle school Spanish for a year and a half. She then took one semester off to go to Mexico and upon returning she taught middle school Spanish for a year. Oralia is a certified Medical Interpreter. She has 9+ years of experience in the Medical Interpreting field. Before coming to Mountain Song she worked as an interpreter and taught Spanish classes for adults at the IU Globelink Language Center. Previously, she worked for D11 tutoring Spanish-speaking students in English and Math.

Oralia graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a bachelor's degree in International Affairs. After graduating from college she traveled extensively throughout Mexico and Central America studying native art and culture. While traveling, she discovered the beautiful jungles of the Yucatan Peninsula and has made this part of Mexico her seasonal home.

Oralia has been an Aztec dance performing artist for over 30 years. She has facilitated immersive cultural educational workshops locally and internationally. Oralia is a native of Chihuahua Mexico. She grew up in the Chihuahuan desert and the mountains of Colorado. Outside of work, she enjoys salsa dancing, gardening, and woodwork.
