My family and I happily moved from West Texas to Colorado Springs in 2021. My partner joined the Mountain Song staff shortly thereafter as a Kindergarten teacher and my daughter is a student at the school as well. I taught 3rd grade at Mountain Song for a year, and it was simultaneously the most rewarding and challenging year of my professional career. Needless to say, we have all bought in to the Waldorf pedagogy and love doing whatever we can to support the school and its mission.
My professional background is in psychiatric healthcare and human resources. I began my career as a case manager at a state psychiatric hospital and worked my way up into a leadership role. After 5 years of service at the hospital, I accepted a position as Human Resources Director for a nonprofit that provided outpatient psychiatric services, intellectual and developmentally disabled services and early childhood intervention services. I worked in this capacity for 6 and 1/2 years, taking on additional roles within the organization such as Governmental Affairs Director. I am also a certified mediator in both general mediation and family mediation in addition to being certified in Trauma Informed Care and Mental Health First Aid.
In my spare time I enjoy walking, reading, writing, watching movies and karaoke.
