Health Forms
There are four main reasons for children stay home:
1. The child could infect others with a contagious illness, either because of symptoms, a diagnosis, or recent exposure to a contagious illness.
2. The child does not feel well enough to take part in usual activities. For example, a child is overly tired, fussy, or will not stop crying.
3. A child needs more care than teachers and staff can give while still caring for the other children.
4. The child has symptoms or an illness on this list, and staying home is required.
How sick is too sick?
PLEASE NOTE: Our health system states that anything that used in a medical way must be administered by the school nurse. Examples: cough drops, aspirin, creams, etc.
News from the nurse
Illnesses: We're seeing a spike in GI illnesses at school these past couple of weeks. Please remember to keep your students home, if they're sick! We follow the CDE's How Sick is Too Sick Guidelines, if you're wondering whether or not you should send your kiddo to school. Here's a summary of the guidance for our most common illnesses right now:
GI: Must be vomit-free 24 hours before returning
Strep: 12 hours on antibiotics and fever-free 24 hours
