Kim Butler, School Counselor
Kim Butler stepped into the world of education in 2021 after over 20 years of working in healthcare leadership. She holds a Master's degree in Humanities and Leadership and a second Master's degree in School Counseling. Kim is also a clinical counselor who provides mental health services to children in an outside practice setting when she is not working as a school counselor. Kim creates a safe space for children to learn and explore their emotions, process conflicts, improve their self-esteem and create safe a stable bonds with adults and peers. Using a person-centered, strengths based, trauma informed approach, as well as elements of CBT, Play Therapy, Solution-Focused therapy and mindfulness, Kim helps children thrive and build the skills they need to navigate the challenges that come up as they learn and grow. Kim's own daughter, now in high school, attended Mountain Song Community School from grades K-5. Mountain Song holds a special place in her heart and she is grateful to provide compassion and support to students and parents in the School Counselor role.
