Dr. Travis Kornegay, Music Teacher

Dr. Travis T. Kornegay is a passionate music educator with over 18 years of experience teaching in public schools. He recently earned his Doctor of Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Northern Colorado (UNCO), and he loves helping students discover confidence, creativity, and joy through music. Dr. Kornegay worked in an interim role at Mountain Sage Community School, a Waldorf education school, where he was grateful for the opportunity to support students and be part of a vibrant Waldorf school community. He sings, conducts, and plays piano and organ, and he enjoys sharing all aspects of music-making with young people—whether that’s regular music class, leading a choir, accompanying a class, or simply making music together. When he’s not teaching, Dr. Kornegay loves spending time in the mountains, watching a good movie, going bowling, and hanging out with friends. He believes school should be a place where students feel encouraged, inspired, and excited to learn—and he brings that positive energy with him every day.
