Vicki has dedicated her career to uplifting young people while helping them strive for excellence through education, sport, and leadership coaching. As the new Movement & Games instructor at MSCS, she brings an abundance of experience as a National Board Certified Physical Education teacher. Her signature classroom is full of energy, movement, purpose, character development, skills progression, and fun.

Coach Vaughan’s first love is basketball, a sport that has ushered her life as a Hall of Fame player in Indiana, to a Hall of Fame coach in Illinois. Past positions have included coaching stints in Ireland, at Lincoln College, the US Air Force Academy, and The Colorado Springs School, where she served seven years as the Athletic Director.

She was employed by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for which she wrote their TrueSport playbook and curriculum, a project that continues to impact athletes, coaches, and parents. Most recently, she has returned as a co-chair for Crossover for Change, a nonprofit that she helped to found with past high school players during the pandemic. In June, she facilitated Empowerment Camps for two weeks with young women in Uganda, impacting over 6000 girls through sport and education.

In her free time, Vicki enjoys being outdoors with her two golden doodles and life partner, Kelly. Vaughan & Walker Photography is a joint eYort that they both take pride in. When she’s not outside working in the yard or taking photographs, she enjoys reading history and non-fiction while committing time to her writing practice.
